Cute toy for toddlers who like unicorns

The Radio Flyer Rolling Pony is easy to assemble. It was tightly packed in the package when it was delivered but wasn't too difficult to get out. I was not worried about it getting damaged in shipping. It pleasantly surprised us with its lightweight design yet it feels very sturdy. My daughter is 2 years and 3 months old and she got excited when we started assembling it because she loves unicorns. Once it was assembled she immediately hopped on it and figured out how to ride it right away. The pony moves smoothly on my vinyl kitchen floor but is a little bit harder to maneuver on carpet. It requires a little extra effort on the carpet but it's not too bad. My daughter really enjoys riding it. She also enjoys talking to the unicorn even when she is not riding it. We appreciate the adorable look of this ride-on toy and the light-up horn and music are engaging for toddlers. It's an excellent choice for young children who are developing their motor skills and coordination. As with every other Radio Flyer product we have used it is well made and we can feel confident in the quality and safety of this toy. If I had to make one complaint it would be that the batteries didn't last as long as I expected. The 3 AAA batteries only lasted a few days. My daughter has been playing a lot on the unicorn but I figured the batteries would last a little longer. That's really just a minor problem as it is very easy to change the batteries with just a Phillips screw driver. And my daughter still had fun with the unicorn when the batteries ran out though she really likes the lights and sounds. Bottom line is that we would definitely recommend this toy if your kid likes unicorns or horses just remember to grab an extra pack of batteries.

Easy Assembly

Just received our rolling dinosaur for my two year old and he loves it. This product was very easy to assemble in under 5 minutes. The kids can cruise around the house front ways sideways and backwards. Very fun and entertaining.

Rolling Pony for the Win

Bought this for my 1 year old niece and she truly loved it. Product is made of good quality that we’ve come to expect from Radio Flyer. Highly recommend for any child.

Frequently Asked Questions About Ride-On Animals

What is an animal ride-on toy?

An animal ride-on toy is a soft, kid-powered riding toy shaped like a horse, cow, or other animal. Toddlers can bounce, scoot, or rock as they develop balance and coordination.

What age is best for animal ride-ons?

Most ride-on animals are designed for toddlers ages 1 to 3, though some models may go up to age 5. Always check the recommended age range and weight limit on each product.

What’s the difference between a ride-on horse and a rocking horse?

A ride-on horse moves across the floor using your child’s feet or bounce power, while a rocking horse stays in one place. Ride-ons promote gross motor development and independence.

Are ride-on animals safe for toddlers?

Yes. Radio Flyer’s animal riders are designed with wide bases, soft exteriors, and low-to-the-ground frames to support toddler play. Always supervise and use on flat surfaces.

Do animal ride-ons help with motor development?

Absolutely. These toys support gross motor skills like balance, pushing, bouncing, and coordination, all through play that feels natural and exciting to toddlers.

Can ride-on animals be used on carpet or hard floors?

Yes. Most animal ride-on toys work on hardwood, tile, or low-pile carpet. For best movement, choose a smooth, level surface free from obstacles.

How do I clean an animal ride-on?

Most plush riders can be spot cleaned with mild soap and water. Check the product care instructions before cleaning to protect fabric and mechanical parts (if included).

Are the animal ride-ons certified safe?

Yes. All Radio Flyer ride-on toys, including our ride-on horse toy collection, meet or exceed ASTM and CPSIA safety standards for toddler toys.
