Collapsible Wagons Built to Carry Kids & Cargo

A great collapsible folding wagon doesn’t clock out when the kids are in school or taking their naps. RadioFlyer kids’ wagons are designed for real family life, from hauling little riders and their gear to park days, sporting events, picnics, errands, and outdoor adventures. When kids eventually outgrow riding along, many models can keep rolling as cargo haulers for groceries, yard work, sports equipment, moving boxes, and more.

That versatility is one of the biggest benefits of a collapsible wagon: you get plenty of hauling space when you need it without committing to that footprint when you don’t. Fold it down for easier loading into the car, then unfold it when adventure calls.

And because family adventures can dish out plenty of bumps, spills, and detours, durability matters. Radio Flyer products are backed by our warranty program, and you can register your wagon for easier access to product support and applicable warranty benefits. From compact folds that simplify car loading to wheels built to keep the fun rolling, Radio Flyer fold-up wagons are ready for wherever the day wanders. When it’s time to head home, just fold it up, pack it away, and save the next adventure for tomorrow.

This wagon really IS the beast

Listen up fellow moms parents friends caregivers carpoolers… The travel sports sports gear schlep (IYKYK) is actually the game before the game. An athletic feat unto itself albeit one that is woefully under appreciated. We’ve been next-level schlepping sweating and remembering the otherwise forgotten items for way too long. So I’ve taken matters into my own hands and found myself the kind of travel companion that will appreciate the varsity level pack mule that I am. My schlepping days are done. She holds up to 300lbs of cargo is befitted with all baseball-terrain tires double water bottle storage and extra-tall walls for containing extra-spilly gear — yet is still agile enough to fold and glide right into the trunk of my car. This wagon really IS the beast.

19 years and counting

I have loved my radio flyer cargo wagon. I have had it for 19 years. It’s hauled many kids garden produce chicken water milk cans square bales. The bottoms starting to go but the tires and undercarriage are still in amazing shape. I am hoping my husband can repair it. Thank you for all the years and memories.

Very Well Made!!

I bought this wagon for my bf right after Thanksgiving. It was a steal at $80. He loves it. It's very sturdy and can carry a lot. I have the Convertible Kid and Cargo. It's been great so when I decided to buy my bf a wagon for Christmas I knew a Radio Flyer wagon would be the best option.

Frequently Asked Questions About Collapsible Wagons for Kids & Cargo

What’s the difference between a collapsible cargo wagon and a utility wagon?

A collapsible cargo wagon is built for family adventures—think kids, snacks, and sideline gear. A
utility model is more of your mulch-and-tools kind of ride, built for yard work and heavy-duty hauling, and isn’t necessarily designed or tested to carry children (there is often little thought for comfort or safety). Radio Flyer’s foldable wagons are made with families in mind, with kid-focused features that vary by model. Explore designs that featureing padded seats, seatbelts, and canopies to find what your family requires. Many models also feature a helpful bench mode, which gives kids a secure place to sit without having to haul extra chairs along—perfect for real-life parenting, snack breaks, and “can you carry me?” moments.

How old should a child be for a foldable wagon?

Most foldable kids’ wagons are safe for little riders 12 months and up—as long as they can sit up on their own with good head and neck control. Our various fold-up wagons feature kid-focused seating and safety additions like padded seats and harnesses to keep toddlers secure and comfortable on the go. Just be sure to check the age and weight guidelines for your foldable cargo wagon before you roll.

How does a folding cargo wagon compare to a stroller wagon?

They may look similar, but folding cargo wagons and stroller wagons are built for slightly
different stages. Foldable wagons are great for toddlers and big kids who can hop in and out on their own—and many include push handles for easier maneuvering. Stroller wagons, like our Voya™ models, are more stroller-like by design and can be used from 6 months (or even from birth with a car seat adapter). They also come in both 2- and 4-seater styles. If you’re looking for a more stroller-like
experience or have a growing crew, a stroller model might be the better fit.

Can you bring a collapsible wagon through TSA and on an airplane?

Yes! You can bring a collapsible wagon through TSA, but most airlines will ask you to gate-check it or check it as baggage since it’s usually too big for the overhead bin. Many parents love to use folding wagons to get through the airport with kids and gear, then fold them up at the gate, just like a stroller. Some of our wagons even have compatible travel bag accessories. Always check your airline’s rules ahead of time (especially for international travel), but in general, a foldable wagon for kids is a travel-friendly option for families on the go.

How do I clean and store my collapsible wagon when not in use?

Our folding wagons are made for snack crumbs, muddy shoes, and the occasional juice box explosion. To clean your collapsible wagon, just spot-treat the fabric with mild soap and water, then let it air dry. If you have a Radio Flyer wagon with a bench mode, that open side makes it super easy to empty out andbrush clean. And when the day’s adventure is over? Our foldable cargo wagons fold down small enough to stash in your trunk, closet, or even hang in the garage.

Can you remove the canopy from a collapsible wagon?

On all Radio Flyer collapsible wagon models, yes. A removable canopy lets you accommodate taller cargo, enjoy sunny days, or create a more compact setup for storage. Some models also feature telescoping canopy poles that retract into the wagon, so there’s no big, tent-like frame to wrestle with when it’s time to pack up. Check your specific model for canopy features and removal instructions.
