Rated 4 out of 5 by from Daughter loves it I haven't had it a week. My 20 month old dare devil loves it. It's hard to steer, use in an open area. It would be nice to be able to customize them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from My kid loves it but it has issues My little boy just turned one and he absolutely loves riding in this. We are experiencing issues with the remote now. It no longer will turn right or left except for the spin mode. Then sometimes the remote doesn't work at all for a few minutes. These things only started to happen the second time we used it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's okay. We bought this a month ago for our sons first birthday. From a childs perspective it's fantastic! From a parents perspective it's alright. Pros Parent steering! Emergency stop! And eventually the child can drive it them selves when they learn. Long battery life. Makes my son so happy and always puts a smile on his face! Small enough to fit in the trunk of my mom car so it's easy to transport it to the park, super market, or where ever we may go. Cons The remote cuts in and out and only works half the time. My first assumption was maybe the batteries we used were weak but we've swapped them out with multiple different brands and nothing ever helped. Although the battery life has been good it finally died after a handful of uses and this momma just realized it never came with the charger! Bummer, so now it's unusable. I have not been able to get a hold of Radio Flyers customer service and the store we bought it from has closed down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best gift for a 14 month old boy.. I was glad i came across this because my son always trysto play in his sisters motorized car but he is way to small to reach petals and this car has the go buttons on the steering wheel instead of the floor which is a plus because your child might b to short like my son and yoy get a remote control that you can use i use his now because he still to young to actually steer and drive the car so he just sit in it and moves the steering wheel as i drive the car and the next stage he can drive it by himself but i can still use the remote in case of emergency like when they don't wana stop and you got to chase them down but you don't got to with this because you can use the remote to stop it and the last stage is just them period but its a great car the battery lasted longer then it said and the remote can have distanced i can use the remote from my porch as my son is driving in the driveway but this was a great buy and i highly recommend this

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Gift I bought this less than 2 weeks ago as a first birthday present for my son! First off I was expecting it to take awhile to ship. But it arrived within a week of placing my order! I am very pleased so far with the product. It is very cute in person and I love the features of being able to control the car ourselves with the remote, that is until our son can learn to do it himself. That was my MAIN reasoning for purchasing this car! Also, I was very pleased with the packaging and how easy the assembly was. It only took my husband less than 5 minutes once it was out of the box to completely put it together. Of course once it was put together and fully charged, my husband tried it out by using the remote control and it moves smoothly. We are very pleased with the price and our purchase! We can’t wait to give it to our little man next week at his party!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Defective remote My parents bought this car for my son for Christmas. The remote will only allow the car to move forward and back, not left and right. I wish we would have chosen a different car to purchase for him.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Features, great fun, tough remote steering I purchased the Grow With Me Racer prior to Christmas 2017 for my four grandchildren to have fun with at my house while visiting (ages 6 months to 2 years). The remote feature is awesome due to their young ages. Also, we can sit a very young one with an older child in the same seat for twice the smiles and fun. The kids absolutely love the car and head right for it on arrival at our house. So on that issue, mission accomplished! Now for the adult views - - The remote control and control switchable modes are a fantastic idea and really sold me on the product. We have not reached the fully drive it yourself mode as our grandkids are not quite old enough yet. Our oldest grandchild (2 years old) did make an attempt and she mainly used the spin mode as she liked it so much. Storage of the remote and the mode switch location under the seat is a great idea as well. - Battery charging is good but not great. No indicator of the battery condition (fully charged, low charge, etc.) makes it difficult to not overcharge or determine how much playtime you have. The battery/charger wiring connectors are very hard to disconnect and connect. I usually have to do this for my wife. - Steering by remote control is very difficult due to response time and the accuracy of the remote directional steering ring. In trying to change direction we jerk the kids around quite a bit and run into many obstacles. Though the kids do not seem to mind, it is very difficult to get the vehicle to go where you want it to quickly. I had hoped with the cold weather outside, that it might be possible to maneuver inside the house. Almost impossible to do this. We will have to be outside in a wide open area to see better what the remote can and can't do. Should you make changes to this, please let me know as this will take me from liking this product to loving it! I still am very happy with the value of this product for the price point. As I said I like it very much (as my grandkids do) but with a few modifications it would take it to a much higher level of product satisfaction! I do not regret this purchase at all, and would recommend it with the warnings of our findings so far.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Excellent idea needing a few tweaks I bought this car about 6 weeks ago as a Christmas gift for our two boys, aged 2 1/2 and 14 months, in order to teach them how to drive before we graduate to larger powered toys like the Tesla. I debated between three and four stars for the review, but two of the cons are significant enough I felt I had to bump it down a little. Firstly, they both think it’s awesome. We get the biggest grins and happy screams when they use it. We store it in our living room and boys get a lot of fun just crawling in and out of it. It was fairly easy to be put together; I did it myself Christmas Eve after everyone was in bed. PROS: —The boys love it. —The stages feature is great. We love being able to remotely control it for our 14 month old and to give our oldest a slightly more exciting ride before he takes over (parental override level). Having the safety stop definitely comes in handy when he’s driving because he does have a tendency to run into things. He’s still coming to terms with the concept of “stop.” —Having a place to securely store the remote is a welcome feature. It’s also good that the place to change control levels is hidden under the seat. —It’s a perfect size for them both and we think it will act as a great bridging “vehicle” to the larger, kid only steered powered toys. —The controls on the wheel are fairly intuitive and our oldest isn’t having much problem figuring them out. I’m glad there’s not a foot pedal to control as well steer as I think that level of coordination is beyond him currently. —It’s slow enough we can run and catch up with him as necessary but fast enough they get a thrill out of it. CONS: —Steering via the remote leaves a lot to be desired. The biggest issue is that we can’t get the car to go straight with it. Even when we’re pressing straight UP (forward) on the circle on the remote, the car veers one way or the other. In fact, sometimes you have deliberately steer a little right or left to get it to go, but then it won’t correct. It’s bad enough we can’t use the car on sidewalks. We have to either go out into the street in front of our house (definitely not my favorite thing to do) or take the car to a tennis court or to a parking lot. We need a fair amount of space to maneuver the car. Additionally, you have to move your finger a lot on the remote’s steering wheel/circle to get any direction change. Sometimes, you’re almost to the backward side of the circle before the car turns. There is also a moderate lag time between when the adult tries to change the car’s direction and when the car actually moves, but this would be manageable if we could get the car to go straight. Luckily, the stop button works pretty quickly. —Lack of charging/battery charge level indicator light. We don’t mind as much in terms of how long to charge it to full (we simply make sure never to charge it for more than 18 hours), but when we’re out using it, how much battery/play time do we have left? How before the battery runs out? If the battery isn’t completely charged and we want to take it out, how much is left? Is it worthwhile to take it and go all the way to the tennis courts? How long do we need to charge it (if the battery’s completely dead) to get a short 15 minutes play out of it? We haven’t played with it from fully charged battery to dead, so I don’t know what the general, expected use time is. —Interference with local WiFi networks? The remote works on a band that’s common for WiFi. So, we find the remote is slightly more responsive when we’re away from other houses. —The battery is difficult to disconnect. My husband has much less issue with it, so I usually end up letting him handle it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from defective After charging the battery a handful of times, per the vague and odd directions, this car stopped working. It will now only go for about 5 - 10 minutes before it is dead. At first, yes I would have recommended this product, however, if it dies this quickly and isn't covered under any warranty, then NO I would not recommend it. Definitely does not meet the expectations I have for Radio Flyer products- generally they're great! Customer service has been contacted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing I bought this car for my almost 1 year old for Christmas and he absolutely loves it! From the first time he sat in it he was ready to go. He sat bolt upright and held on to the steering wheel...just waiting. Admittedly mom has some difficulty steering with the remote but t gets easier the more we play with it. It works best in a large open area so my sister's house at Christmas made for some challenging turns. But my son loved it all!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Missing important battery info!? We haven't used the car yet. I got this for my grandson for Christmas and I clicked along fine putting it together but the battery info is sketchy! I charged the battery for 10 hours but the instructions only said don't charge over 18 hours. What is the appropriate charge time? It also says to recharge every time you use it. How do you know how long? I went to the web site and the other cars have a indicator light. Am I missing something on this one? I tried calling but they are now closed for the holidays. I feel like I have no way to insure I don't mess up the battery! Pretty frustrated at this point!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My toddler loves this car! Disclaimer: Radio Flyer provided us with a free sample of our Radio Flyer® Grow with Me Racer product to try out and review. My daughter is almost 22 months and LOVES this car. She asks for it daily, loves that she can hop in and out on her own, and even brings her stuffed animals along with her for rides. Her least favorite part is when the ride comes to an end! Handling - Remote control: We mostly use the adult operated remote control since our daughter is still young. It doesn't allow for a smooth ride when beginning to drive or changing directions. My daughter doesn't seem to mind it at all, but the car jerks a little at these times. Handling - Child steering: There are two buttons on the steering wheel that are only on right side. You can go forward, turn left/right. I wish the buttons were available on both sides with maybe a switch to indicate which side is being used. This operation favors right handed kids, whereas my daughter already favors her left hand. It's not a huge issue right now, but I can also see it being a struggle if a kid cannot use their right hand for whatever reason. Assembly: The directions are really straightforward, and I found it really simple to assemble. The only issue was lining up two of the screws on backside of steering wheel because it's in a tiny crevice that's hard to access. It didn't cause any major issues though. Battery charge: The manual says don't charge more than 18 hours, but there's no way to tell how long a full charge takes. Is it 17 hours? There's also no charger indicator that I see letting you know it's done. Some devices have a light that goes off when it's complete. Also, in order to charge the battery, you need to disconnect the 6v wires in order to connect the charger. Mine sticks pretty badly and is difficult to pull apart. It took two adults over 30 minutes to get the two wires apart in order to charge it. All batteries are included!! A nice bonus since not all toy companies do this. Overall, I would definitely recommend this product to others!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy Toddler = Happy Parent Radio Flyer provided my 2-year-old daughter with a free sample of the Radio Flyer® Grow with Me Racer to try out and review, and we are so happy they did! The Racer has quickly become her favorite toy. When we arrive home and enter the garage, she practically refuses to walk into the house without getting a chance to take it for a spin. I don't know how she can spin for so long, but she loves it. This Racer has improved her hand-eye coordination, as she learned to spin and drive herself around. The design is cool. I only wish it could be personalized like many of the other products offered by Radio Flyer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Toy for Child and Parents Radio flyer provided us with a free sample of the grow with me racer to try out and review with our daughter. The toy is true to what the box advertises: quick to put together, has safety features and grows with your child. Our daughter (almost 2) absolutely LOVED riding in the racer and was exciting for us to control. It kept all of us entertained for hours almost like playing a real life mario kart game. The remote was comfortable to hold and was more high tech than I initially thought because the controls synced to even the slightest movements of your finger. It was the perfect speed for us to walk behind her and allowed her to feel like she was driving it herself and had control. We love that as she grows she will be able to drive it herself and has the safety feature to override any unsafe movements. The setting to change the stage is under the seat which ensures that she could not change the setting while using it. It was very fast at charging and the battery lasted for a long time. Every night she comes home from school and says "my car" and wanting to play with it. Wonderful product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great First Car for Toddlers My son is just under 2 years old and really loves car. We thought he would instantly fall in love with the Grow with Me Racer! He enjoys sitting in it and watching others ride it as well. We only use the remote as he isn't old enough to maneuver the car himself. With the remote, it tends to jerk the car a little bit and isn't as fluid as we'd hope. It takes a bit for the car to turn - rather than immediately turning. The speed seems to be just right for little ones. I'm sure he will love driving himself in a year or so! Radio Flyer provided us with a free sample of the Grow with Me Racer to try out and review.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy assembly and easy for little to use Radio Flyer provided us with a free sample of Grow with Me Racer to try out and review. It was easy to assemble, only complaint was there was a very narrow spot that needed a screw placed that took a little longer to get done Jan is like to admit, lol. I love that this ride on has a remote control for parents to control young riders. The STOP button worker in real time! My three year old loved it, even my 6 year old had to take it for a test drive. It’s a small car, perfect for us living in a condo with limited space. Would definitely recommend this to friends!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great car to grow into Radio Flyer provided this product free to review. 1st my son is 2 yo and he likes this car. The remote takes some getting used to. But once you have it works great. The second one to over ride and still let the kids drive is awesome. The 3rd option is to solo have kid drive, only down side is the forward is on the steering wheel and no pedel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great entry level ride-on car! Radio Flyer provided me with a free sample of the Grow with Me Racer to try out for this review. This is the perfect entry level ride-on car for kids. My 17 month old daughter has a no fear spirit and she loved going for a ride in the parent control mode. It does accelerate a bit too fast for her, but my 3 year old son didn't mind. My son loved both the parent control mode and when he was able to drive himself. The best part was the parent override ability on the remote control when he wasn't able to maneuver well on his own. My 5 year old and 7 year old nephews came over and they were still able fit into the car (even though their legs looked too big for it and the recommended age is 1.5 - 4 years old), and they had fun using the remote control on each other. The spinning feature was a hit with the kids, while still feeling safe from being belted in. Overall it's a great starter ride-on car!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome Product! Our daughter loves this. Disclaimer: Radio Flyer provided us with a free sample of our Radio Flyer® Grow with Me Racer product to try out and review. Our 19 month old daughter loves her new car. The best part about this for her is that she can get in and out of it on her own. From the day I took it out of the box and even now she cannot wait to get into it. Assembly was easy and straightforward and took maybe 30 minutes. That was a great benefit, as our daughter was wanting to go for a ride ASAP daddy! Haha. I was then crossing my fingers that the battery had a charge and sure enough, it was ready to go out of the box. I have only operated this in full parental control mode. I will probably switch it to the mode where she can operate it along with parental override in another month. The only complaint that I have is the response time of the remote on occasions. Sometimes I push forward and the car doesn't do anything and then it goes after a second or two. Same thing for going in reverse and using the turning buttons. Other times it goes immediately. It's not as consistent as it should be in my opinion. Maybe something is interfering with it. This operates on the 2.4Ghz spectrum from what I saw in the manual, so maybe it's my router? I don't know. I may also take her to an empty parking lot (away from routers) and see if that makes a difference. I also plan (but have not done yet) to change the provided AAA batteries with some name brand batteries to see if that makes a difference also. If it does, then I'll either write another review or edit this one if I can. That is the only reason I am docking this one star. I wish that I could only dock it a half star. I really struggled with the rating. I want to give this a 5 star rating, but I just cannot with that response delay happening. Do I think this delay could cause harm to my child? Absolutely not, because I definitely won't have my daughter in it without our supervision and somewhere she could get hurt. Overall, it's an awesome product and I highly recommend! We are looking forward to years of fun in the future with this!
