Cyberquad for Kids Frequently Asked Questions
The Model 915 differs from the Model 914 in the following ways:
-Recommended age grade was changed from 8+ years to 9-12 years.
-The rear spring underneath the seat was removed and replaced with a steel tube with rubber-coated metal inserts.
-A tire inflation warning label was added to the front left fender.
-A revised warning label was applied to the front left fender. This warning clearly states that the product is not for off-road use and is not a youth ATV.
Radio Flyer prints the model number on the right lower corner of a warning label located on the front left fender. The Model 915 warning label is shown below. You can also verify your model by the part underneath the seat that connects the rear wheel frame to the main frame. The Model 915 does not have a rear spring attaching the main and wheel frame. Rather, the Model 915 has a steel tube with rubber-coated metal inserts that secures the wheel frame to the main frame, as pictured below.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) classifies the Model 915 as a battery powered ride-on toy and specifically found that the Model 915 is not an ATV. The CPSC uses the CPSC’s Toy Safety Standard (known as “ASTM F963”) to evaluate the design and manufacture of ride-on toys. The Model 915 complies with that ASTM Toy Safety Standard. And, due to the changes to the Model 915 from the Model 914, the CPSC has found that Model 915 does not meet the requirements of being a youth ATV.
The CPSC classified the Model 915 as a ride-on toy because #915 falls within scope of a battery-powered ride on toy as determined by the Toy Safety Standard, is marketed as a battery powered ride on toy, and is intended for use only on flat, level surfaces in a residential setting. Radio Flyer worked closely with the CPSC to configure the Model 915 so that it fits within the Toy Standard’s definition of a battery-powered ride on toy. The Model 915 is not marketed or designed as a youth ATV, which is typically operated off-road on uneven terrain.
The CPSC felt that Model 914 Cyberquad was marketed and designed as youth ATV. Because the CPSC classified the Model 914 as a youth ATV, the CPSC applied its youth ATV safety standards to the product, which the product was not intended or designed to meet. As a result, the CPSC asked Radio Flyer to recall the Model 914.
Only the Model 914 is the subject of the recall. If the Model #914 is shown on the label located on the front left fender, then your product falls within the recall. The Model 914 was sold in December of 2021. The Model 915 was first sold starting November of 2023 and is not part of the recall.
No, the Model 915 is only a ride-on toy, for use on flat, level ground in a residential setting. Do not use or allow children to use on uneven or wet terrain, inclines, or sand, or to drive over obstacles.
No, even with the rear spring removed the product rides smoothly. The high-pressure air tires help absorb vibrations and small bumps.
No, the product cannot be modified in any way. Modifying the product will void the warranty and could present safety risks.
Radio Flyer worked closely with the CPSC and the CPSC believes that a 9-year-old is more capable of driving a battery-operated ride-on toy with the Model 915 specifications, including a top speed of 10 mph. The maximum recommended user age is capped at 12 years old, since this product is marketed, designed and intended for children, not adults.
The rear seat tube spring was removed because the Model 915 is a battery-powered ride-on toy and not a youth ATV. The spring is not needed for a ride-on toy for use on flat, level residential riding surfaces. Do not use or allow children to use on uneven or wet terrain, inclines, or sand, or to drive over obstacles.
No, they are not for suspension purposes. The new assembly comprises a metal tube and two rubber-coated metal inserts that were added to help reduce stress on the frame.
No, the speed and power of the Model 915 are the same as the original Model 914. Both models are powered by a 500 watt motor with a 10 mph maximum speed.
