Introducing the New Kid & Cargo Wagon™ with Canopy

We’re so excited to announce our Kid & Cargo Wagon™ with Canopy — a full-sized wagon for kids and cargo that folds compactly and offers maximum storage space underneath the seats.

“This product resulted from the folding wagon research we did during the summer of 2017,” says David, Radio Flyer Product Development Engineer. “We identified some key problems that consumers had with folding wagons, and from there we started brainstorming.”

Having enough cargo space — with room for kids — topped the list.

“Consumers put tons of stuff in their wagons,” David admits. “It turns out there is so much stuff though that there was no longer space for children. To solve this, we lowered the wagon closer to the ground. This doubled the storage space inside the wagon. Then, we added folding seats to create an optional kid + cargo mode.”

When hauling cargo, it’s easy to fold away the seats or to place them upright for child seating. The extra-tall sides also provide maximum storage. With an easy, one-hand fold, it’s a cinch to take and store the wagon anywhere.

Another perk – the wagon’s UV canopy for sun protection. When it’s not in use, simply retract the canopy poles into the wagon’s frame and store the canopy in the rear storage pouch. You’ll also find two front cup holders and a strap to hold the handle upright when it’s not in use.

“I’ll be honest, though — my favorite part is the folding seats,” David says. “The idea started as a napkin sketch from a designer. Right away, we knew it was going to work. Seeing it transform from a sketch to finish product that functions so well is what makes product development so fun!”

The Kid & Cargo Wagon™ with Canopy has a maximum weight capacity of 150 pounds and is geared toward children 1½ years and up, with seatbelts for added safety.

“This wagon visually looks much different from the rest of our wagon lineup,” David adds. “It has a sportier look — one I think our customers have been looking for. I cannot wait to see this product out in the wild!”
