Rated 3 out of 5 by Granny from Red front, pink bottom, orange handlebar???!!! I like the scooter. It's hardy and both my granddaughter & grandson love them. However, I tried to buy a red one for my grandson. The pattern on the bottom definitely did NOT match the "red" on the handlebar or front part. It was REALLY pink! Okay for 3; but not for 7 yr. old boy with his friends. Tried to buy a plain red bottom to switch; but they don't make ANY plain bottoms for the Build-A-Scooter. Since I had the handlebar decorated (orange/red & brown?!-still not matching), I was stuck with it. Decided to buy a whole different one since his sister already had a purple one. Bought green. Actually matched the base. Now I have to figure out how to take the "decoration" (probably just a sticker) off the handlebar and see if I can give it to my younger granddaughter for her birthday. Since Radio-Flyer has always used the "red" wagon/bike/scooter with a boy riding it as their primary advertising, never thought I'd have to deal with this. I would NOT recommend red for a boy who doesn't want to be riding a pink scooter later on. Even the blue is more geared to a girl's choice. What happened to basic primary colors???!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by KathyP from A Family Favorite This is my second scooter I’ve ordered for a grandchild. In our family, they are a hit! I have to admit that I order all the bells and whistles. I put a word plus the child’s initials (example: “ZOOM RCP” and “NLH MAGIC” using a word they like) as I don’t want their name so visible. The streamers AND the scooter hold up well to heavy use with the wheels rolling smoothly after many miles. The lighted wheels only work at faster speeds so I learned from my first grand daughter to make this a surprise. She was disappointed when her wheels didn’t light up until she learned how to go pretty fast. (Both have received their scooters as a fourth year bday present and the younger saw the older one’s scooter, impressed by the lighted wheels. They are easily seen by others rather than the driver.) . I don’t think I’ll order the light up wheels again although I still have potentially two more recipients waiting in the wings!

The personalized rhythm handle post sticker is almost maroon. The base is almost a dark hot pink. Since I ordered the red for a boy, the hot pink base is a huge issue! The purple is just as pictured so I am very pleased with that color.
