Flyers love to work hard while we play. All year, we have fun monthly activities and celebrations to support our mission, this includes tricycle races, pumpkin carving contests, game shows, Karaoke and the Radio Flyer Olympics. These events fuel a sense of lightheartedness and passion that spurs motivation and drives success.
The formula is simple: Happy, engaged employees + employees with deep love of their job = a successful Company! Our Little Red Rule is that ‘Every time we touch people’s lives, they will feel great about Radio Flyer’. We not only live this motto through our customer interactions, we practice this with our employees (aka ‘Flyers’) every day!
As cited in the book Building a Magnetic Culture, by Kevin Sheridan of HR Solutions, Radio Flyer continues to go above and beyond for our Flyers to ensure that we sustain a culture where our Flyers are committed to living out our vision, mission and values, and that they have a deep love and passion for their job, and for Radio Flyer as a company. We make success happen together, and our Flyers know how their individual contributions connect to their personal success (their own growth and development), as well as to the success of the organization. Because we promise this to our Flyers as part of our employment brand, we have been able to continue to lead by example in the Best Practices of how to keep employees engaged in the workplace.

A 16-year-old Italian boy named Antonio Pasin was one of the millions who immigrated to America from Europe at the start of the 20th century. A skilled carpenter, Pasin headed to Chicago and began building little red wagons out of stamped metal. By 1923, he had saved enough money to create the Liberty Coaster Company, and he began mass-producing the wagon for just under $3. He named it the Radio Flyer in homage to two of his favorite inventions of the time: the radio and the airplane.
