These 2 boys are first cousins and they live being outside being pulled along in their Radio Red Flyer wagonBy: Brack L.
MiMi Bea has been restoring a 1970's Radio Flyer wagon. Still needs some work, but we love to ride down the small hill and then Karley pulls me 50 ft. to Papa's shop. Karley has a new plastic wagon but does not steer like the old one. Great times!
My children's children... I remember a Christmas Eve when my son was two and was fast asleep. My husband and I liked to set out the few gifts we had the night before Christmas so our son could see what Santa brought for himgot out the wagon which imf
My Little Red Wagon is the title of the bedtime story I made up for my daughter. A true story about my daughter and I building a flower garden in your little red wagon. That bedtime story was my last English assignment 10 years ago when I graduated Business Administration after struggling a 3 year learning curve with my learning disability of reading and writing starting with a grade 5 education. That story stuck in my heart until I reread it and decided to publish it Oct 2014. Since receiving my first copy my passion grew deeper for literacy and learning. April 1, 2016 I launched My Little Red Wagon Garden Kit. Seen on my website littleredwagongardenkit.com. or my face book @mylittleredwagonfundraiser. I build this great little educational hands on learning tool kit to promote and support literacy. It comes with my story book, a W5 doll size Radio Flyer little red wagon, a plastic tray I got made for it to protect the wagon and to allow the children to still play with the wagon after they build their own flower garden for it, comes with a bag of Pro mix soil, 3 piece garden tools, 1 pair of gloves that come in 4 different sizes from ages 3-12, red, green, blue or pink plus a package of flower seeds I got made to represent the 5 colors of flowers in the book. It all comes wrapped up in a little red bow sealed in a box with a label, bar code and My Little Red Wagon company logo and information. Since launching April 2016 My garden kit can now be purchased in over 30 locations across Alberta and BC. Leaving a literacy trail along the way. I would be honored to name all the stores if you like including 12 Home Hardware stores and an Indigo and Cole's book store. Little Red Wagon is enjoyed by many generations for 100 years, leaving a huge impacted on generations to come. Radio Flyer and literacy share one great thing together. They both effect every generation and are a HUGE part of the future. Every one has a story with a little red wagon or knows someone who had one. Every one knows someone who learns a little different and or struggles with basic education. Reading and simple math. Many know the challenges some struggle with learning, reading and writing and how it still effects many of our children, youth and adults. Did you know with only 1% increase in the literacy rate would generate $18 Billion in economic growth every year. Investment in literacy programming has a 241% return on investment. Literacy is much more then reading and writing; it is an essential skill that is the foundation for future learning. It is about people’s ability to participate in everyday activities like banking, readying a safety manual, reviewing a child’s report card and acquiring new skills to keep jobs or to change jobs and to create jobs in our community's. It's also needed to put together Radio Flyers products. Education isn’t just about letters and numbers it’s about learning. Literacy has no color or race but effects every generation. Radio Flyer carries this same trade. Investments in foundation skills would lead to improve in livelihood, levels of health, increased productivity, reduce social costs and higher growth participate in community decision-making and early childhood development. Radio Flyer is a huge part of play and grow how about being part of something even greater? Play, Grow, & Learn. Teaching all the importance of childhood growth. Education, literacy, learning, building. Watching Learning growing. 100 years is celebration for The many generations of Radio Flyer customers and the new literacy generation that follow with it. My Little Red Wagon Garden Kit was created for ages 3-12 but a story for all ages. Radio Flyer celebrates 100 years of creation, why not create literacy in the new generation of Radio Flyer. Radio flyer is a HUGE part of the worlds growth, so is literacy learning. What a great little idea to get education a part of play. Watching learning grow. Thank you for being a part of my literacy growth and my active child within. I hope my new growing learning garden kit will become a great new project for Radio Flyer to celebrate one day. Thank you for the life learning lessons Love Darcie Taylor
Let's go back almost 30 years to my First Birthday. Grandma H. gave me a wooden red radio flyer wagon that year and I couldn't have been more excited my Mother said. She would pull me around the farm during chore time and on country walks in the evening. Fast forward about 5 years and I now had siblings in which to pull around in the very same wagon. Jump 5 more years and my older brother and I were now using it as our "race car" on the driveway. We would take the sides off of it. Then we would have one person sit on the wagon with the tongue up against the front so they could steer it and the other person behind pushing it down the driveway. Sometimes we even got a little crazy and use the ditch sides for more speed. Around the same age and until I was a bit older I would also take the wagon and construct what I would call "cat condos" and place my kitty's in and pull them all over the yard. These condos had blanket ceilings and walls and were typically bedded with grass clippings ha ha ha. boy those cats sure tolerated a lot of bumping around in my little red wagon. Even our puppies came along for the ride sometimes and the whole ensemble would end up in a family photo or two. Fast forward to now, I am almost 31 years old and I still have my beloved little red wagon. It has seen better days, but it is the most played with toy I still own. I now have two children of my own (1.5 years and 7 months). I am currently in the process of redoing and fixing my little red wagon so that my boys can enjoy it just as much as I did growing up on the farm. There are a few things that need some serious repair and it needs some new paint, but i have it all broken down and ready to be refurbished into its former glory. It will soon be ready for another 30 years of laughing children playing with it. :)
