Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a Happy Customer I assembled this today for my daughter's second birthday. The 'eating' sounds when feeding the horse stopped working within an hour, and the rest of the sounds it makes are hardly audible.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun Interactive Toy! Radio Flyer provided me with a free sample of Chestnut: Plush Interactive Riding Horse to try out and review. Overall I think this toy is a lot of fun and very sturdy. Putting the toy together was a little difficult in the sense that you have to have 2 people to put it together. All the pieces fit together so snugly that you have to have one person holding the pieces in place, or holding the horse up, and the other person putting them together. Since the pieces do fit so snugly it allows for the horse, when complete, to be very sturdy. I have a 2 year old son and he loves to interact with the horse. His imagination really comes alive when he feeds Chestnut the carrot and he also enjoys brushing his coat. The only thing that I wasn't thrilled about is how high off the ground the horse is. My son is newly 2, but taller for his age, and there is no way he is able to get on the horse himself. This isn't such a big deal, because I can help him up and it is a toy that he can grow into, but this isn't a toy he can play with by himself if he wants to ride on it. At this point in time he is happy to just pretend Chestnut is his pet to take care of which is so cute to see!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We LOVE Chestnut! We were lucky to have received a free sample of Chestnut from Radio Flyer to test the product! He’s so soft and is a solid riding horse! Starting from scratch here with assembly... it was easy for me until I got to attaching the limbs, from there I let my husband take over because I’m just too weak, haha. Overall, it was very simple, and instructions were very clear and organized, down to separating the hardware into sealed and numbered bags associated to specific steps. Impossible to mess anything up. Took about 45 minutes from start to end. From the moment we got Chestnut up and galloping our 2 year old (25 Months) has truly been obsessed. She feeds him and combs his hair in the morning and before bed and has so much fun taking him for a ride! She was able to master appropriately hopping on after a few tries. The step made it much easier for her. Volume of the gallops and neighs on the highest level is not over bearing which is nice for this mom of two! Chestnut will continue to be loved in our home, that I am certain of!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very realistic with excellent details and features Disclosure: Radio Flyer provided my family with a sample of this product to try and review. The Chestnut riding horse has become an instant favorite in our house. We have three children that fit within the product use requirements, and all three love the horse. The most challenging part of managing their playtime is refereeing the squabbling over who gets to ride and for how long. The pros: - The horse is a great size for small children. My smallish three year old has no problems at all climbing up and giving the horse a good workout, but it's not too small that my older children can't comfortably ride it - The "horsehair" and mane are soft and feel great. They really give a realistic vibe to the horse. - My kids love the ability to "feed" the horse and hear it munch. It hasn't gotten old! - This is a very high-quality, solid product. It doesn't feel at all that it is unsafe in any way, and as a parent I am wary of products like this that tend to break down over time. I have no worries about that. The cons: - This took us a bit longer than expected to assemble. There were a couple of times that required some coordination to get the screws and holes all lined up appropriately. However, once assembled it feels very solid (see above) - The horse comes with a comb for the mane, and a carrot to feed the horse. It would have been really great to include a saddle bag for storage, so those items don't get lost. Overall, this is a very solid rocking horse that my kids love to play with.
